Well I have to say that this weekend was a power packed one with the x-games running almost continually on television.....
I remember the days when first place for the top pro was $500.00 and a pack of copers...today if you are a pro skateboarder, the amounts you can make are really unheard of.. in the days of skating past....Although it is a lot different from the backyard contests of yesteryear, it is always exciting to see these barbarians of concrete, finally getting the rewards they so long deserve....with industry titans as Nike, Adidas, Vans and Rockstar, its nice to see some money flowing into the pockets of these rippers....
X-games 2011 was ridiculous, first off the addition of real street was a nice feature, the street course was great this year... and really gave you the feeling of a real street environment, the bowl design was rad too, but I personally liked last years better. and vert well they decided to go with the standard ramp design, letting these rippers really compete on a level playing field.
regardless the park was my favorite, with Barros, Tershy, Kozlowski, Rune, and Hassan.....personally Kozlowski killed it with a style and smoothness that it was rad enough for my wife to make comment... way to go Kevin!
overall great X-games this year. and Stoked to see the park design for the next one.....
