DIY---and Guerrilla skate spots!

Its always nice to stumble on a spot made by some underground dedicated indevidual, who in the dead of night had filled a crack, poured some crete, hacksawed a rail, or just all out made a skatepark ( Burnside Oregon ). To me DIY and skateboarding go hand in hand. What is more exciting than locating a primo spot for a DIY project and assembling the team to get the job done!

I have always been a beliver in not always relying on your city and governments to build for you, but you do it yourself. Hey dont get me wrong if your city wants to build you an amazing park, all the power to them. I just find that it is not always worth the time, and focus, and in alot of cases, the city justs dumps you with a half fast solution. i.e. The staff over in Cornwall Ontario know so much about skateboarding that they made all the descisions signed all the contracts without even asking the skateboarders. The sad part is they expect the kids to like the park they built.

Regardless it is time to take park building in our own hands, there are plenty of places to build, your back yard being one. Time to free yourself from the ramblings of a spoilt child, and make the move yourself. If you want a sick park you find a spot and start tyo build a sick park...see below for DIY examples and videos.
